ISOLATION DAY 3 - ROUTINE

I’m pretty high-functioning, and therefore I work better, in fact I thrive in routine. So it was natural for me to fall into a pattern. In times like these, it’s good to compartmentalise working from home, freelancing, hobbies, as well as down, chill, and wellbeing time. Aiming for a healthy balance is important as hell right now, but also acknowledging and accepting this is a strange and unprecedented time for a lot of us, and therefore: switching off, logging out for an hour or two, a day, hell a few days, is perfectly fine. Try not to pressure yourself, we’ve plenty of time, and everyone in the world is basically in the EXACT same position.

Daily(ish) Routine

👉🏻Wake up by 9/10am, make my bed, clean yesterday’s cups and plates, feed Jezza (the kitten).

👉🏻☕Make a Turkish coffee, filtered through a Vietnamese coffee strainer, sweetened with condensed milk. Make a filling breakfast. Eat that garlic cloves, and drink that ginger.

👉🏻📖Read in comfort for as long as I want, feet resting on the radiator, sipping warm sweet coffee. (Check reading list for what I’m reading).

👉🏻Do Sivananda morning sun salutations, sometimes followed by the 12 asanas (yoga).

👉🏻Go to my room, sing at least one song or two on the guitar, then play through the scales and chords I’m learning on piano.

👉🏻Work my way through my record collection, playing them through whole, marking my favourite tracks prepared to DJ.

👉🏻Whilst sitting on my laptop, working, answering emails, freelancing, creating.

👉🏻When tired and / or bored, I close off all working networks - logging off, make dinner which I take to bed, whilst working my way through classic TV. (Check watching list).
